I owe everybody a long picture diary of my house after the fire and now moved back in. But alas still working on shit. So much to do. Hung all my curtains yesterday.
Anybody that read all or some of my posts about the fire could have seen one theme I came back to again and again. I owned too much shit.
Long story short I bought far less of the items I owned before and therefore had a lot of money to spend.
I’ve always been of the thinking if you need a nice kitchen knife, save a little more. Wait a little longer. Buy the best you can buy. Take care of the item. Treat it with love. It might last a lifetime.
I went even more in with this thinking this time around because I had a pretty big pot of money.
Bought a Dyson v8. Almost $600 (list price, I got it for $540). Folks like my brother and friends laughed I paid this much. I noted I can’t count how many $150-$200 vacuum cleaners I’ve owned. From Bissell to literally “old school” Hoovers. None worked.
The Dyson does!
This is going to be the shortest product review I’ve written here, and I’ve more than a few.
It is maybe the best product I can recall buying.
Apple is famous for the “unpacking” experience of getting the product out of the box. Yeah Dyson has that. The stickers on the vacuum, and they leave no residue, tell you everything you need to make it work. Like a quick start guide.
I had just used the handheld part since moving back into my house. Worked like a champ. Not really lived in my place long enough for a need to vacuum. Somehow I needed to do this in my bedroom today.
Did one pass and went to get mom. I was like you mocked me for paying this much money for a vacuum. Watch this. She was speechless.
